Based in a very isolated and rugged location, deep within New Zealands Fiordland region, the Patea Explorer has been built with special attention to low maintenance and reliability of the vessels systems.
The vessel has also been designed to take advantage of the incredible environmental features within its operation. Large viewing decks allow passengers to get outside to view the wilderness while the passenger cabins have been designed with skylights and wrap over windows to enable viewing in wet weather.
The hull also features low wash capability, while the machinery arrangement has been developed to keep noise and emissions to strict environmental standards.
