20 years ago - February 1989 - Ron Devine and Toby Richardson, who had both been working independently as boat builders in other parts of Australia, teamed up to build their first joint project vessel in Hobart, Tasmania and thus formed the successful partnership that has become Richardson Devine Marine Constructions Pty Ltd. Now working on hulls 047 and 049, with a recently completed 048 just delivered, RDM are firmly established with an international reputation.

Ron and Toby are far from complacent about their success. They attribute where they are today to many years of committed hard work and the dedicated team of 70 employees that make up the RDM workforce.

RDM can celebrate 20 years in business because Ron and Toby have a mutual respect for each other, their clients' needs and a commitment to growth and development. Their reputation continues to grow as a shipyard that can deliver a superbly finished vessel on time, on budget and one that exceeds the owners' expectations.
